Wine & raffle ticket proceeds to benefit Mudlark Theater to support programs where children are taken seriously as artists. The proceeds raised at the event will underwrite our signature program and production, Mudpie. Mudpie is a show written by Evanston children and performed by their peers. Every year, Mudlark Theater receives submissions of original creative writing pieces (short stories, fairy tales, poems, ramblings, rants, etc.) that have been written by local kids in the community. Mudlark Theater adapts these pieces for the stage and incorporates the show into its mainstage season. Many of the Mudpie writers are participants in our collaborative after-school program with Y.O.U., and they would never have an opportunity to express themselves creatively if it weren't for this program--a program that is completely free to these children. The end result is a powerful production highlighting the amazing artistic abilities of Evanston children.
